Filipino ↔ English real-time voice translation for Google Meet and Teams
Short answer: Yes. SottMeet translates Google Meet and Microsoft Teams (web) calls between Filipino (Tagalog) and English in real time, by voice and in both directions, with live subtitles for both sides, something neither Meet nor Teams does by voice for Filipino.
For Filipino speakers who want to talk in their own language with English-speaking clients, employers or colleagues, and for English speakers working with Filipino-speaking teams, partners or relatives. You speak Filipino and the other side hears natural English about a second later, and you hear their English in Filipino, with subtitles for both sides. It works in Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on the web, and only you install it.
What Google Meet and Teams offer for Filipino ↔ English
Neither platform translates Filipino by voice: Google Meet's speech translation doesn't include Filipino, and Filipino isn't one of Teams Interpreter's nine languages. Meet shows Filipino captions as text on Workspace plans; Teams can caption Filipino speech but can't translate into Filipino.

| Google Meet translated captions | Text only | Filipino captions, shown as text. | Workspace Business Standard and above. Not on free Gmail. |
| Teams Interpreter agent | No | Filipino isn't one of Interpreter's nine languages. | Microsoft Copilot license; listeners need a Microsoft 365 license. Not in Teams free. |
| Teams live translated captions | Text only | Filipino speech can be captioned and translated into English, but Filipino isn't a translation language, so English speech can't be shown in Filipino. | Teams Premium or Microsoft Copilot (the organizer's license covers everyone). |

Tips for Filipino ↔ English meetings
- Taglish is normal. Many Filipino conversations mix in English words. Short sentences with one idea each come through clearest; say product names and key terms clearly once.
- Po and opo. Respect words like po and opo have no English equivalent and are dropped. When English is translated into Filipino, the level of politeness is chosen from context.
- Nicknames. Filipinos often go by nicknames (Jun, Bong, Mae). Introduce yourself with the name you want to be called, and put full names in the chat.
- Numbers and pesos. Amounts are often said in English or Spanish-based words (singkwenta, isang libo). Repeat key figures and confirm them in the chat.
Example: what each side hears
