How much does real-time meeting translation cost?
Short answer: It depends on how often you meet. Built-in options in Google Meet and Teams come with a subscription of about US$18–20 per user per month. Dedicated tools charge either a monthly plan (about €9–€39) or by the minute. SottMeet is pay-per-minute: about US$9 per hour of translated talk (US$10 ≈ 65 minutes), with no subscription. For a few calls a month, paying per minute is usually cheaper; if you translate many hours every month, an hours-based subscription wins.

Which pricing model is cheaper for you?
- A few calls a month (under ~2 hours): pay-per-minute. 2 hours on SottMeet is about US$18 spread over however many months you need, and nothing in months you don't meet. A subscription charges every month.
- Daily cross-language meetings (10+ hours a month): an hours-based plan such as MeetVoice Pro, or Copilot if your company already pays for it, costs less per hour.
- Your company already has Copilot or Workspace Business Standard: check the built-in options first, but note the language limits (9 languages in Teams; English ↔ 6 in Meet).
- You need languages other than English pairs (e.g. Chinese ↔ Thai, Japanese ↔ Spanish): only some tools support any pair. SottMeet speaks 19 languages in any combination.
How SottMeet billing works
- You pay only while translation is on, counted by the second.
- It stops by itself if nobody speaks for 3 minutes, so a forgotten tab doesn't drain your minutes.
- No subscription: minutes don't need to be used up in a month. Optional auto top-up refills when you drop below 15 minutes, so a long meeting doesn't cut off.
- Payments go through Stripe; SottMeet never sees your card number.
FAQ
Is there a free way to translate meeting audio?
Google Meet's speech translation and Teams' Interpreter both need paid plans. SottMeet starts you with 5 free minutes, up to 30 free minutes in total (no charge), on any Google account including free Gmail.
Am I charged if the translation stops in the middle of a meeting?
No. Minutes are counted only while translation is running. If nobody speaks for 3 minutes it turns itself off.
Why does SottMeet cost more per hour than a subscription?
You're paying only for the minutes you use, with no monthly fee. If you translate many hours every month, a subscription can be cheaper; if you meet across languages occasionally, pay-per-minute usually costs less overall.
Is there a discount?
Invite a friend from the top-up panel: when you both top up the US$10 plan, you each get 10% off. Larger plans include bonus minutes (+5% on $30, +20% on $50).
