Vietnamese ↔ English real-time voice translation for Google Meet and Teams
Short answer: Yes. SottMeet translates Google Meet and Microsoft Teams (web) calls between Vietnamese and English in real time, by voice and in both directions, with live subtitles for both sides, something neither Meet nor Teams does by voice for Vietnamese.
For Vietnamese teams in meetings with English-speaking clients and partners, for example in software outsourcing, manufacturing and export, and the other way round. You speak Vietnamese and the other side hears natural English about a second later, and you hear their English in Vietnamese, with subtitles for both sides. It works in Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on the web, and only you install it.
What Google Meet and Teams offer for Vietnamese ↔ English
Neither platform translates Vietnamese by voice: Google Meet's speech translation doesn't include Vietnamese, and Vietnamese isn't one of Teams Interpreter's nine languages. Both offer only text captions on paid plans.

Tips for Vietnamese ↔ English meetings
- Tones need a clear mic. Vietnamese is tonal and many words are a single syllable, so clean audio matters more than usual. Use headphones with a mic and speak at a steady pace.
- Pronouns depend on age and role. Vietnamese uses anh, chị, em, ông or bà instead of one “you”. English output turns them all into “you”; when English is translated into Vietnamese, the pronoun is chosen from context, so say names and roles at the start.
- North, Centre and South. SottMeet understands Vietnamese from every region. Some words differ by region, so say key product terms clearly once.
- Numbers and money. Vietnamese writes 1.500.000 where English writes 1,500,000, and amounts in đồng get long. Say the figure clearly or give it in US dollars, and confirm it in the chat.
Example: what each side hears
A software outsourcing team in Vietnam updates a client in Australia. An illustrative exchange. Each bubble shows what was said and, below it, what the other side hears and reads.
